The Adventures of Wyatt Earp, the Foster Kitten Born Without Any Back Feet

What is life like for a foster kitten who was born missing both his back feet and paws? Watch each week's episode of The Adventures of Wyatt to find out! You'll get to see how a disabled kitten, Wyatt Earp, grows and learns to use prosthesis as he gets ready for adoption. New videos every Friday!

Want to help contribute to the work I do with foster kittens? I have an Amazon wish list right here. These are the things I use again and again, year after year. With daily laundry and frequent cleaning, items have to be replaced often. I’d love anything you’d be willing to send my way!

Foster Kitten Friday, the Christmas Edition

Merry Christmas and Happy Foster Friday from the Wild West Gang!

We had planned on doing some kitty cat family photos today to share with everyone, but 10 week old kitties aren't always cooperative. While we didn't have a Christmas tree this year, we still could have taken their pictures in front of stockings or a Christmas quilt. Heck, I would have even been happy with them all sitting still in one place anywhere in the house today!

Although it's still early in the day, they've already had enough excitement this week with Wyatt's Christmas presents so we're giving them (and me) a break from the camera. Instead, we'll go with the few moments of quiet we had. As the Wild West Gang is definitely living up to their names those moments were few and far between.

All together on the cat tree with some Christmas decor
in the background is as close as we'll get.
Calamity Jane sound asleep. Silly girl.
Annie Oakley and Wild Bill oh-so-close to napping.
Shhh...don't tell Wyatt I took a picture of him with
one of his Christmas presents.

What? Wyatt has a Christmas present in the picture? Yep! Check out his video to see what he got.

I also got a huge Christmas present from Wyatt. Every day for the last six weeks he has gone to the bathroom outside the litter box. I've cleaned up pee and poo off of his blankets and run laundry. Every. Single. Day. But last night, on Christmas Eve, after I finished putting together his video...WYATT USED THE LITTER BOX!!! Happy Dance, Happy Dance! So while it's not mentioned in this week's video it definitely will be in the next one.

Merry Christmas to all!

Foster Kitten Friday

Hello from The Wild West Gang!

Hello from Trouble Maker Town!

Hello from the land of Foster Kittens Just Being Foster Kittens!

The week they went wild and got into everything.

They took things out of the closet. Tried to open kitchen cabinets. Dropped toys into their water bowls. Hid toys around the toilet. Confiscated shoes and stole socks. Climbed up our legs as we walked. Hid tissues. Squeezed under closed doors. Took flying leaps from the cat trees to anything and anyone - people included - within 10 feet of them. It was also the week they thought suckling on brother one night would be a good idea. (Thankfully I heard the whining and was able to get up and stop it.)

They also thought they should be helping me in the sewing room by playing on the ironing table...

and sitting on the Christmas wall quilt pattern as I was working...
and attempting to open my bobbin drawer.
And by taking away a spool...
and knocking off the quilt top and claiming it as her own.
Then when the wildness calmed down we had the cute lap cat moments.
Yep, it was a week of cute kittens just doing what cute kittens do.

Even more cuteness can be found in this week's episode of The Adventures of Wyatt. Check it out!
Happy (and cute) Foster Kitty Friday!

Foster Kitten Friday

Hello from the Wild West foster kitty household! With Mama Kate off to her forever home, the babies were missing their mama this week. Guess I must be a pretty good substitute because they followed me everywhere. But this week's pictures aren't of them traipsing through the house with me. Nope, they are where they spent most of their time...on my lap.

We had the please hold me like a baby pictures from both Wyatt Earp and Wild Bill.

Everyone went with the let me show you my belly pictures.

The what did you say? pictures were popular with Annie Oakley and Wyatt.

The I'm a football fan pictures from Wild Bill and Annie Oakley.

The let me show you my tongue and mouth and the don't we look like twins? pictures from Wild Bill and Wyatt Earp.

The foster mama's and foster papa's laps and chests are comfy pictures.

May I Ask a Favor?

May I ask a favor of you while you are doing your shopping this year?

As you know, as I blog I work hard at providing new crafting projects, travel content, and kitten fostering tips to readers. It's not a paid job and it's just me, myself, and I making sure new "stuff" gets out there each week. I do occasionally make a small - very small - commission with affiliate links. What does that mean? It means that, at no additional cost to you, I earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. Your purchase helps support my work in bringing you new content weekly.

So here's the favor I'm asking...

If you plan on shopping on Amazon or JoAnn's fabric store this year, would you mind using my link when you make the purchase? Remember, any commission I earn is at no additional cost to you. You know I never ask anyone for anything, and if you'd prefer not to, no worries. But if you do, I'd sure appreciate it!

Happy shopping!

Foster Kitten Friday

Hello from the Wild West Gang Wild West Circus! Yep, nothing but a three ring (or maybe five ring) circus happening in this foster kitty household this week.

Ringmaster Mama Kate led the bunch. But now she's gone off to surgery today and will be up for adoption next week. Before she left she made sure she finished her mama duties.

She just about finished her weaning duties.
And then she had some fun. In the evenings she would chase the babies around the house and they'd chase her back. Around and around and around. It was nice seeing mama getting to be a cat again. Although why she would end the evening on her back with her feet in the air - under the folding chair - I'll never know. Calamity Jane sure took advantage of it.
Mama Kate also found a new hiding spot from the babes. On a dining room chair where they couldn't reach her. Smart mama.
One of Mama Kate's circus acts was Wild Bill. Don't let the cute little face deceive you. He found himself in all kinds of trouble this week.
Climbing on top of the playpens to get to the humidifier? Yep. This photo was taken after he was already shooed off the top of it. Where he was sitting like he owned it.
Ipad case chewer? Yup.
Who would put a toy in the food bowl and then knock the food all over the floor? Wild Bill, of course.
He also decided to make a visit to the circus concession stand for some pizza. None for you, buddy.

Then we had cutie patootie Annie Oakley. Again, don't let the cute little face fool you.

I thought I misplaced my camera this week. I usually keep it on the end table so it's on hand to snap cute little kitty cat pictures. But it wasn't there. I looked everywhere I could think of and it didn't turn up. It was a long shot, but I decided to look under the recliner. Guess we have a pickpocket at the circus.

Camera? Check.

Toys? Check.

Annie Oakley? Check.

Looks pretty guilty!

We also had one of our circus acts out sick this week. Ms. Calamity Jane couldn't keep anything down. Or anything in. She started losing weight and wouldn't eat and drink and either stayed with mama Kate or just curled up and slept.

Poor sick girl
We had one very long night where I had to try and get fluids in her every hour even though she really didn't want them. The all nighter was followed up by a trip back to Simply Cats for some IV fluids and anti-nausea medicine. It was enough jump start her recovery, and by the end of the week she was raring to go.

Then there is Wyatt Earp. What can we say about this little fellow? Well, he still can't use the litter box here at the circus. But otherwise he is doing great - and gaining weight nicely!

Check out this week's video to see the progress he's made. With no back feet, he's sure making good use of those little front ones.

It may be a circus around here most days, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
