Learn How to Make a Extra Large American Flag Hotpad - a DIY 4th of July Project

In today's tutorial, we will make an extra large American flag hot pad. This project uses fabric scraps and strips to make an American flag. It is a great way to decorate for 4th of July BBQs and picnics. 

For this project you will need:

• red, white, and blue fabric
• backing fabric 
• cotton batting, or Insul-Bright 
• fabric clips or pins
• walking foot
• scissors or rotary cutter, cutting ruler, and cutting mat
• iron and ironing board
• sewing machine and matching thread
• optional basting spray
• optional printable template from the pattern
